Pack 88 Serves 1st through 5th grade boys in the Byron Area of the Shiawassee, Genesee, and Livingston Counties, and has been continuously chartered since 1970.

We are members of the Shiawassee District of the Tall Pine Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The Chartering Organization for Pack 88 is the Byron United Methodist Church.

It is the vision of the Pack to provide a high quality program to all the boys in grades one through five. Our sons will advance in rank each year, beginning with Tiger Cubs and continuing through the Arrow of Light in fifth grade. We will encourage our boys to continue the fun, adventure and development of Scouting by graduating into Boy Scout Troop. We hope each of our Scouts will continue to advance in the Scouting program, not because of the badge of rank they will earn but because of what they will learn about themselves, their families, others, God, their country and the earth.

The primary values we seek to instill are contained in the Cub Scout Promise- "to do my best to do my duty to God and my Country, to help other people, and to obey the law of the pack." Our Scouts, families, adult leaders and volunteers work together to teach these values by:

1. Influencing each Scout's character development and spiritual growth
2. Developing habits and attitudes of good citizenship
3. Encouraging good sportsmanship and pride in growing strong in mind and body
4. Improving understanding and communication within the family
5. Strengthening skills in getting along with and respecting others
6. Fostering a sense of personal achievement by developing new interests and skills
7. Providing fun and exciting things to do
8. Showing each Scout how to "do your best"
9. Preparing each Cub Scout to become a Boy Scout
